World Cups 2018 and 2022 bids !!!
Spain became the new World Champions just few months ago but World Cup 2010 is now history and everybody is getting ready for the next editions. We already know that World Cup 2014 is going to be held by Brazil for the second time after they were hosts in 1950.
On December 2nd this year the FIFA Executive Committee will vote for the hosts of 2018 and 2022 editions. FIFA submitted 11 bids in total but 4 of them are only for 2022 edition. Mexico and Indonesia withdrew due to different issues. Also due to rotation policy if a European country gets to host the WC in 2018 the other European countries will not be eligible for 2022. Since WC 2010 was held in South Africa and the next one will be hosted by Brazil it is expected for Europe to host the one in 2018.The bids are :
- Belgium & Netherlands for 2018 and 2022
- England for 2018 only
- Russia for 2018 and 2022
- Portugal & Spain for 2018 and 2022
- USA for 2022 only
- Australia for 2022 only
- Japan for 2022 only
- Qatar for 2022 only
- South Korea for 2022 only.
Which of these countries will get to be the proud hosts of these 2 World Cup editions?
Will Qatar be the first Arab country to host WC?
