UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals 2013-2014

Today UEFA has drawn the quarter finals of the most important inter clubs football competition in the world. Although there are only big names left in the stage of the competition, the four teams that are in the best form at the moment have "avoided" each other once again.

Real Madrid - Borussia Dortmund

Real has the perfect occasion to revenge the semifinal loss last year and they have plenty of arguments on their side. Borussia hasn't been in a very good shape lately as they lost some of the last season's important players due to transfers or injuries whereas Real seems to be more powerful and consistent towards the end of this season.

Manchester United - Bayern Munich

These two titans have met several times in European Cups, however the most famous clash between them was in the final of 1998-1999 season when the British side came back in the added time to win the trophy. This year we might have an unbalanced duel as Man Utd has had arguably the worst season in two decades whilst Bayern is cruising in Bundesliga.

Paris Saint-Germain - Chelsea London

QIA have invested massively in PSG in the last three years and so the expectations have grown with every season. Even though they are stronger than last year it won't be easy at all for them to get to the semis as they face a team that barely concedes goals and Mourihno has a vast experience in resisting and kicking out attack-minded teams.

Barcelona - Atletico Madrid

These two Spanish giants know each other very well but this will be their first encounter in European Cups. Both sides had great starts of the season but they have stumbled lately in La Liga. It will come down to whether the genius of Messi, Iniesta and Neymar will be enough to overcome the surprise package Atletico.

The first round is set for 1/2 of April with the second leg a week later.

My prediction for the four semifinalists : Real, Bayern, PSG, Barcelona. Good luck to all !
