Introduction to World Cup 2010
This summer South Africa is going to be the first African nation to host a World Cup. More than 3 billion people are expected to watch what's known as the most widely-viewed event in the world.Great players, national rivalries, passion, drama, emotions all in the same place.
Here's the list of participating countries in the alphabetical order :
Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Côte d'Ivoire, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Honduras, Italy, Japan, Korea DPR, Korea Republic, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Paraguay, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United States, and Uruguay
Which country , do you think, will lift the trophy ?
Who will be the surprise of the tournament?
How about the under-achievement?

5 February 2010 at 01:04I believe this year there no big favourite and that would make things very interesting as we could see a lot of surprises.
I also want to see world cup champion a country that hasn't won before and there are some hopes from Spain, Holland and why not Serbia or Cote D'Ivoire or Portugal.
You can never go wrong with Germany as they always advance to the latest rounds at WC cause they always have a strong group with serious players that stick to tactics an the hit when you least expected. Germany played the final in 2002 even though that team wasn't very talented. The class of Ronaldo stopped them from winning the trophy. 4 years later they reached the semifinals.
It would be interesting to see how the African nations would compete on their on land.

Hey Cristi! Welcome to my blog!
8 February 2010 at 19:58I know this blog is still very new and still needs more stuff including more followers so that it will be more active. Hopefully soon things are gonna get more exciting. Any suggestions are very welcome.
Azurri are the defending champions and they will definitely have a word to say this summer. Their group is probably the easiest one and, unless something very unexpected happens, they will win it and have a chance to play Denmark or Cameroon in the last 16. It seems that their problem is that they have an old squad that can be outclassed by teams with high pace like Spain, Holland or Brazil.
I will soon create separate posts for each favorite so we could break it down even more.
